Job Title: Theme Administrator Contract Type: Fixed-term until 31 December 2018 Working Pattern: 17.5 hours per week

The NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care for Yorkshire and the Humber (NIHR CLAHRC YH) is led by the Universities of Sheffield, Bradford and York, and hosted by the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS FT. It is a collaboration of partners including the NHS, Local Authorities, Charities, Industry and not-for-profit patient advocacy organisation and is comprised of 9 themes of related research.

Together the CLAHRC YH conducts applied research in health, public health and social care to improve people’s health. The Health Economics and Outcome Measurement (HEOM) theme is one of the nine themes in CLAHRC YH. The overall aim of the HEOM Theme is to improve patient care by providing healthcare decision makers with the best evidence possible to make the best choices for their patients. About the Department Job Role Overview

You will work within the Health Economic and Decision Science (HEDS) Section ( of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) as administrator to the Health Economics and Outcome Measurement (HEOM) theme in NIHR CLAHRC YH. 

You will be required to work closely with the HEOM Theme Management Team, particularly with the Theme Lead, to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the projects that together form the work programme and to ensure the delivery of the Theme strategy and the prioritisation of research within the Theme. Acting as the main point of contact for the Theme, you will provide administrative support for the development of new research proposals and the delivery of research projects by monitoring project progression and reporting areas of concern to the Theme Lead. You should be experienced in providing administrative support to multi-disciplinary projects across multiple organisations, preferably in a research/academic/health economics and outcomes measurement environment.

This requires the application of established project administration methods and University finance and contracting systems. You will be a competent user of the Microsoft Office suite, an excellent organiser, have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, a confidential approach and you will have budget-management and project administration experience.
