We are looking for two members of the public to get involved in our National Learning and Development subgroup
INVOLVE, which coordinates public involvement in the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) is reviewing the ways patients and the public, researchers and public involvement leads can develop their knowledge, skills and experience about involving the public and patients in research. INVOLVE want to ensure that there are a range of learning and development options in different styles and formats to suit individual learner-needs.
INVOLVE has set up a group to look at learning and development in public involvement and there are six subgroups: Access, Websites, Diversity, Inductions, Top Tips and Learning Needs.
Access Subgroup : The ACCESS subgroup wants to recruit 2 public partners. We want to work in partnership with members of the public who have been involved in some NIHR work and have an interest in learning and development opportunities in public involvement. We want to understand more about how members of the public find out about learning and development opportunities, how they access the training, and develop ways we can make this better.
Further Information: If you have any questions, please contact Dr Adele Horobin who chairs the Access sub-group: firstname.lastname@example.org Tel. 0115 823 2614 Available every weekday except Wednesday.
Your time and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with INVOLVE guidelines.
How to apply: If you would like to be considered for membership in the subgroup, please provide a short summary (no more than 250 words) of why you would like to be considered. This is not a formal application, and you may find it easier to write a few bullet points. You may wish to include:
- Information about why you are interested in the work of the Learning and Development group;
- Any relevant teaching/learning experiences you have had, particularly those relating to public involvement;
- Any other relevant skills/experiences you can contribute to the group.
Please send an email to email@example.com by Monday 20th February 2017.
Next Steps: Expressions of interest will be reviewed by the founding members of the panel. We will be prioritising members of the public with relevant experience and interest in this field. Once we have made a decision, we will contact all people who expressed an interest in the position.
