Sector-led improvement conference – Making the link: evidence and practice

The Association of Directors of Public Health Network in Yorkshire and the Humber would like to invite you to attend a conference on Friday 17th February 2017 at The Principal York Hotel, York.9.30 for a 10am start- 4.00pm
This event forms part of the commitment of the network to the sector led improvement approach – and the importance of sharing learning and developing excellence in public health practice.
There will be opportunities to share and learn from work from local areas across Yorkshire and the Humber – covering all aspects of public health work.
The President of the Association of Directors of Public Health Andrew Furber will be one of the key speakers on the day offering a national perspective on the opportunities and challenges for public health today and into the future.
A programme of interactive workshops is being put together to offer opportunities to talk and learn with colleagues. There will also be an open networking space and poster displays.
The keynote speaker is Emma Stone, Director of Policy and Research at Joseph Rowntree Foundation. The remainder of the programme will comprise parallel sessions
AM: oral abstract presentations from local PH teams, universities etc on a wide range of topics. Abstract submission closes on Friday.
PM: communities of improvement workshops including children and young people, healthy weight, PH intelligence and MECC, plus a session on the PH practitioner registration scheme and one on the making/improving the links between practice and evidence).
Places are free for local organisations involved in developing public health practice. A maximum of 28 places has been made available for universities in the region. If the number of bookings exceeds the number of available places, these will be allocated to those with an accepted oral/poster abstract and to ensure representation from a range of academic institutions.
