Outcome measures in palliative care: workshops – 9th and 10th February 2017
King’s College London and CLAHRC South London are hosting workshops in February 2017 on using the Palliative care Outcome Scale (POS) to advance clinical care and research.
The POS measures record patients’ physical symptoms, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs, and the provision of information and support at the end of life. The POS is a validated outcome measure that is widely used in palliative care across the world. They are free to use and can be downloaded here: www.pos-pal.org
These interactive workshops are aimed at all professionals in palliative and end-of-life care, including clinicians (nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, allied health professionals, oncologists, GP, physicians), social workers, researchers, managers, commissioners and educators.
They will be facilitated by experts from the Cicely Saunders Institute at King’s College London, including Professor Irene Higginson, Dr Richard Harding and Dr Fliss Murtagh, as well as Professor Claudia Bausewein from Ludwig-Maximillian University in Germany.
When: Thursday 9 February (day one) and Friday 10 February 2017 (day two). (Day one will focus on POS in clinical scenarios; day two will focus on POS in research.)
