Trial Manager Academic Unit of Elderly Care and Rehabilitation (University of Leeds)
- Employer: Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Job Location: Bradford
- Full-time 37.5 hours per week, two year fixed term contract in the first instance. Part-time minimum 30 hours per week can be considered.
The Academic Unit is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated individual for this Trial Manager post. The Unit specialises in applied health research.
The post-holder will be working on a research project, funded by the NIHR HTA programme, to evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of a home-based exercise intervention as extended rehabilitation for frail older people after acute illness or injury. Building on successful previous work, a multi-site individually randomised controlled trial with internal pilot and embedded process evaluation is planned. The multi-site RCT will be implemented locally and nationally so some travel to other sites will be required.
The successful applicant will be educated to post-graduate degree level or equivalent, and have knowledge and experience of leading research projects. Experience of working in an elderly care/neurology/stroke setting and/or on randomised trials would be advantageous.
