Annual Report Executive Summary Yr2 #CLAHRC #CLAHRCYHRCB #CLAHRCimpact

Lord Willis, Sue Mawson, Jo Cooke & Dan Wolstenholme

We have today published on our website, our second Annual Report Executive Summary for the NIHR CLAHRC Yorkshire and Humber.

This summary contains some of the highlights from our collaborative activities, focusing on
how we are building on our work to deliver impacts across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

At a time of continuing turbulence in the health and social care sector, we hope you will be impressed and delighted  at the impact of our work regionally and nationally, work that can only succeed in collaboration with you, your colleagues, patients, families and carers.

Our impacts have been delivered in areas with significant levels of social deprivation and health inequalities. In addressing this, we have been able to enable Local Authorities and the NHS to explore and develop new ways of working to improve the health and wellbeing of our population.

Furthermore, we have worked in partnership with patients and the public ensuring that our work is driven by their priorities and needs, generating evidence of the highest value, with the greatest potential for change. With new leadership at NIHR, we remain confident
that our rigorous approach to research and implementation will continue to inform and change practice across our region and beyond, ensuring that we remain the ‘jewel in the crown’ for the Department of Health.

On a personal note, I am committed to the vision and principles of NIHR CLAHRC YH and it is an honour and pleasure to lead this incredibly talented group of researchers, practitioners, patients and carers.
