The Divide at the Bradford Royal Infirmary on 12th October at 5pm.
The film is inspired by the best-selling book “The Spirit Level” by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett and the screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the book’s authors. This will be an opportunity to discuss the implications of the film for policies and services in Bradford.
The Divide tells the story of 7 individuals striving for a better life in modern day US and UK – where the top 0.1% owns as much wealth as the bottom 90%. By plotting these tales together, we uncover how every aspect of our lives is controlled by one factor: the size of the gap between rich and poor. Further information on the film is available here: http://thedividedocumentary.com/
The screening will take place in the Sovereign Lecture Theatre at the Bradford Royal Infirmary. Refreshments will be served at 5pm, followed by the film then Q&A at 5.15pm. The event is being hosted by Born in Bradford (http://www.borninbradford.nhs.uk/).

*The name has been changed from @spritleveldoc to @thedividefilm as many countries around the world do not use the term “spirit level” in the same way as it is in the UK. The film is still inspired by the book “The Spirit Level’, we hope this new name will enable us to reach a bigger audience
