Bradford NHS Open for Innovation

Bradford NHS Open for Innovation

Date:   18 October 2016, 10:00 – 15:45

Place:  Digital Exchange, Bradford, BD1 5BD

Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire is working with Bradford City and Bradford Districts Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Medipex and DHEZ Ltd to bring Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs an exciting opportunity to develop solutions that address Bradford’s major health challenges.  The CCGs are looking for solutions to be ready to pilot by April 2017 but the requirement is for scalable innovations and services which can be built up in a phased approach.

To support the process Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire is hosting a briefing event in Bradford. SMEs and entrepreneurs, CCG representatives and other organisations in health related sectors across the UK are welcome. These briefings will explain the context and challenges to be tackled, provide an opportunity to see relevant data sets, and to explore questions in a workshop setting.  The CCGs are particularly looking for solutions that will:

  • Reduce high level A&E attendances and unplanned short-stay admissions of children with acute breathing problems such as asthma
  • Improve patients’ adherence to their medicines and reduce medicine waste
  • Reduce unnecessary outpatient referrals/follow-ups and improve co-ordination between primary and secondary care
