This workshop is for researchers and health professionals who want to develop and submit an NIHR research funding application.
If you want to make a strong application which has the best chance of getting your research idea funded, then this event is for you.
Preparing a good application takes time. This workshop will illustrate the application process and will help you to focus your ideas and efforts to produce a strong application.
What will you get from the day? For those intending to develop and submit an application to NIHR, this workshop will highlight:
Sources of funding and support for research
The importance of a well-defined research question and how to design a study to answer it effectively
An understanding of the practicalities of running a research study
What funders are looking for in a submission
Building a team of collaborators
What to consider when costing a study The application process
Events are FREE of charge and lunch will be provided.
What do I need to do? As this event is aimed at those wanting to develop and submit a research funding application we ask that:
You have a clear idea of your research question
You are prepared to discuss your idea with an RDS adviser ahead of the workshop (by phone at a pre-agreed time) if we need more information
You are willing to undertake about 2 hours work ahead of the workshop
