Building a strong global health research system: Developing the role of the nurse workforce

An NIHR Meeting to celebrate International Nurses Day 2016
When? 12 May 2016
Where? Macdonald Burlington Hotel, 126 New Street, Birmingham B2 4JQ

Are you a practising NIHR Clinical Research Nurse delivering and
supporting clinical research in England? Then join us at the fourth
NIHR Clinical Research Nursing meeting on 12 May 2016.

The focus for International Nurses Day 2016 is: Nurses: A force for change: Improving health system resilience and in response we will consider the importance of a
vibrant research delivery service to supporting a strong global health system.

This event also coincides with NIHR celebrating its 10th anniversary: an important occasion for reflection and action.

During this interactive day we will hear from invited speakers who have been asked to describe the changing landscape from their perspective and present their understanding of the consequences of the changes for the research service delivery practice.

We will be posed the challenge to consider what the changes mean to us as a network and how we might consider responding. This challenge will then form the basis
of group work, discussion and action planning.

Invitation for poster presentations
As the NIHR celebrates its 10th anniversary we invite poster presentations which can clearly demonstrate the value and impact of the clinical research nurse workforce to the development of research opportunities within NHS services.

In particular we would be keen to see how research teams have grown and developed and changed in response to the needs of the patients, carers, the portfolio and industry. In addition to poster presentations you can also propose sharing your work in a range of formats and media. Creative approaches will be particularly welcome.
If you wish to submit a proposal, please complete the online abstract form when you register for the meeting. Prizes will be given for the best presentations.

Registration: We expect a great deal of interest in this meeting so please
register as soon as possible. Registration does not guarantee a place. We will endeavour to be as fair as possible in allocating places, aiming for a speciality and geographical spread.

Attendance at the meeting is free of charge for NIHR nurses.
