Health services research call announcement

http://www.arthritisresearchuk.org/research/news-for-researchers/2015/november/health-services-research-call-announcement.aspx

We are developing a joint initiative with other partner funders which aims to produce evidence on the quality, accessibility and organisation of health and care services relevant to people with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.

The focus of the call will be on research in four major areas:
 Health and care service improvement
 Health promotion/prevention
 Health economic evaluation
 Health data intelligence and linkage

We will be holding a cross disciplinary workshop in Chesterfield or London on 14 January 2016, to inform prospective applicants of the details of the initiative and provide the opportunity to seek clarity as well as enabling them to develop new linkages, discuss research in fields relevant to this initiative, and ensure that prospective applicants can submit robust and relevant applications.

This initiative seeks to engage applicants from a diverse range of academic and non-academic fields. We wish to fund multidisciplinary research which brings together musculoskeletal researchers, clinicians, health service researchers, allied health professionals, health economists, data analysts and people with arthritis.
It is anticipated that the research will lead to improvements in the quality of life of people with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions and contribute to the evidence base of knowledge relevant to people with arthritis.

The call will open on 7 December 2015 and the closing date will be early March 2016.
Prospective applicants interested in attending this workshop are asked to e-mail research@arthritisresearchuk.org to register their interest.
