Hours: 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

Brief Description of the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the role of Senior Research Fellow. The post holder will work on an NIHR funded project called ‘Understanding and enhancing how hospital staff learn from and act on patient experience data’. S/he will utilise their qualitative expertise via fieldwork and analysis. This will involve a variety of qualitative methods and intense action research with hospital ward staff. This project offers an experienced qualitative researcher the unique opportunity to develop their skills particularly in relation to action research.
The successful applicant will work within the Quality and Safety research unit. We are a multi-disciplinary research team who specialise in applied health research, focusing on organisational and team learning for patient safety, patient experience, behaviour change and patient involvement in safety. The post holder will be educated to masters level with at least three years’ experience of working in the field of applied health research. A PhD in a social science or health research area is highly desirable. Considerable experience of designing, conducting, analysing and writing up qualitative research is required. Experience of research in patient experience and/or safety would be advantageous.
