@CLAHRCYH #HealthyWeight Research Prioritisation Event- 25th June 2015

CLAHRC Y&H Healthy Weight Research Prioritisation Event- 25th June 2015 10:00 – 4:00pm.

The CLAHRC YH Healthy Weight work stream is hosting a research prioritisation for local authority, NHS and VCS partners and academics interesting in obesity. In the morning delegates will hear from doctoral students and other researchers who are working in the area of weight and obesity across Yorkshire and Humber. The afternoon session aims to identify future opportunities for collaborative research and implementation work which delegates might want to take forward. This would take the form of identifying research questions, funding opportunities, potential collaborators and ways of taking these pieces of work forward. We are keen to involve as many colleagues around the region as possible, and this does not require a specialist knowledge of research methods, so please do come along. There will also be time for networking and sharing ideas with others from the region.

The identification of research and implementation opportunities will be based around the following broad themes, identified at our previous meeting (although we are happy to modify this in the light of the interests of those present).

* Services: Evaluation and mapping, efficiency and cost effectiveness

* Partnerships: Prevention of obesity, improving service efficiency and engagement

* Morbid obesity

* Weaning and pregnancy

* Wild card – other ideas of relevance to delegates

The meeting takes place on Thursday  25th June, from 9 30 to 3 30 in room A225 of the Alfred Denny Building at the University of Sheffield. Grid reference E3 111 on the campus map http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/polopoly_fs/1.356816!/file/campus-map-az.gif

The overall aim of the day is to start to put together groups of interested researchers and health professionals who can work collaboratively to develop research and implementation work in their chosen area of interest.
