Charities Open Access Fund (COAF) launched 1 October 2014

From 1 October 2014, Arthritis Research UK is contributing to the Charities Open Access Fund (COAF). COAF is a fund to provide financial support for making publications freely available. COAF will be available in your host institution.

Arthritis Research UK, with other AMRC members, developed COAF as a transparent and sustainable way to provide financial support for article processing fees.

You can find out more about COAF online.

Who can apply for COAF support?

COAF support will be available for original research papers submitted for publication from 1 October 2014. This fund will be accessed via your host institution. The fund’s partners have developed FAQs to help you.

For further, specific information about administration of open access fees via COAF please contact openaccess@wellcome.ac.uk.

Why are we supporting COAF?

We want to ensure that Arthritis Research UK-funded work has the biggest impact possible. We believe that the best way to maximise impact is to provide open and unrestricted access to published research.

Open access is an important means of maximising the impact of our research, which facilitates the sharing of knowledge amongst the scientific community and enables our supporters to access the research they fund. You can read Arthritis Research UK’s Open Access policy on our website.
